A respected leader known for his clarity, integrity and results-driven approach, Chris has a legacy of successful partnerships with utilities, developers, board members and investors to design and implement solutions for the evolving energy landscape. His expertise spans technology development, asset performance optimization, energy operations, hydrogen infrastructure, grid integration and decarbonization strategy.
With over 24 years of experience at General Electric, FieldCore and Plug Power, Chris has held a variety of senior operations and leadership roles, driving technical strategy, project delivery and operational excellence in mission-critical and regulated environments. Throughout his career, he has led large-scale, multidisciplinary teams, overseeing complex operations and high-value energy assets.
Early in his career at General Electric, Chris developed deep domain knowledge of power generation systems through the commissioning and construction of combined-cycle, gas, nuclear and steam power plants. As Senior Director for GE’s largest combined-cycle portfolio in North America, he grew LTSA backlog by over $1 billion and managed $2.5 billion in services backlog with utility clients. In 2017, Chris was selected as a key leader in the launch of FieldCore—a $2 billion GE startup formed by merging GE Power and Granite Services. There, he established operations and built a culture of excellence capable of executing hundreds of large-scale energy projects annually for U.S. utilities.
In 2019, Chris transitioned to Plug Power as Executive Vice President of Services, leading all aspects of customer service and project execution. In this role, he was a key C-suite leader during the rapid acceleration of Plug’s fuel cell and hydrogen roadmap. Chris transformed service operations to scale globally, supporting growth into the world’s largest hydrogen fuel cell network—with 40,000 fuel cells, 300 fueling sites and over 50,000 hydrogen fills per day. Under his leadership, the organization cultivated a culture of safety, quality and customer accountability, consistently exceeding performance expectations and improving operational KPIs. Chris also played a central role in implementing critical hydrogen infrastructure projects and vertically integrating the hydrogen supply chain—guiding Plug through the 2021–2023 hydrogen supply crisis. These efforts solidified Plug’s reputation as a reliable partner and contributed to 250% revenue growth with Fortune 500 customers, including Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, Kroger, Uline, BMW and Stellantis.
In 2023, Chris was promoted to General Manager of the Hydrogen Generation and Services Business Unit, responsible for Plug’s hydrogen production and distribution network generating 24 tons per day of liquid hydrogen, including operations of the world’s largest liquefied green hydrogen facility.
